Description

Bianchi famously is the oldest Italian bicycle manufacture which is still in business. Throughout their more then 130 years of history, they gave forth to an enormous amount of top class racing bikes, always trying to be ahead of the competition.
Our Bianchi XL Titanium stems approximately from 1998. Here Bianchi tried to bring the relatively flexible material that titanium is into a more rigid form than normal round tubes. They formed a so called 'mega tube' by welding titanium sheets together which then served as a downtube. For some time Bianchi had Litespeed doing the titanium welding for them but some had also been done at Bianchi's famous Reparto Corse division.
The Bianchi we present here is one of the latter.
In the front there is the excellent Bianchi carbon fork in black and the frame sports the deep blue pantjob which is fantastically well preserved. Which is no real wonder, since the frame has been carefully stored the whole time and never built up as a bike.

It is also very light with just 1630 g for the frame and 560 g for the fork.

This very special piece waits to be turned into a proper racer and some nice period Campagnolo Record or Shimano Dura-Ace groupset would suite it perfectly. Or if you want more contemporary ride you can pair some brand new parts with fantastic riding feel of vintage titanium frame.
